Published

BELLA CRAFTS MAGAZINE

I just learned that I will be published in Bella Crafts Magazine coming out this Thursday
One of my collages will be in the magazine, it is titled "Doorway To Beauty"  This was made on a 16x20 canvas, painted with gesso and hues of red paint  I then added some scrapbook paper on top  I put the lady in the center and proceeded to add different ephemera to the canvas.  I also added Vintage lace to the top and bottom.  As you can see, I added a doorknob, so that is why it is titled "Doorway To Beauty".

JUST STEAMPUNK

YAY! I got published in Just Steampunk's Winter issue, This is the magazine and my work is below
I made a Steampunk top hat with a mask and eyes with eye lashes.  The second is a Steampunk bra I made for Adelphi University as I have said before on my blog, it was a charity event and silent auction and all the proceeds went to breast cancer,  My bra sold for $250.00

I have been continuing my pastel classes but unfortunately the teacher fell ill and we don't know when or if he is returning.   This is very upsetting to me because I was very excited about the work I had been doing.   I am praying he comes back.  Here are some pieces that I did:
The Sea

Snowy Night

Girl with Red Hair

Blonde Beauty

Baby In Red

Here is my attempt at a portrait, it is the niece of a friend of mine
She was pretty hard to do as I think all children are but I took my best shot.

Again I have been lax in keeping up with my blog.  Not a lot has happened since I last wrote.  I entered a few photos of my work for submission and hope I get in at least one magazine.
I am planning to be in Just Steampunk and am working on a Steampunk hat for it as well.
They came out with Just Mixed Media so there is a lot I can do with that.

I started art school again.  This time I am working with pastels.  I never knew how hard it was
to work with them but I am hanging in there.

Here are the first two that I did and thought they
came out pretty good so I framed them.  The one on the top is a summer scene and on the
bottom is a winter scene.  I am really enjoying it.  Portraits are the hardest to do but I am
working on it.

Finnabair Contest

My piece of art here for the contest is a take on Linda's cigar box, of course mine is different in a lot of ways and I added lights.  She is an inspiration to me and I wanted to see if I could follow in her steps just a little.  My favorite quote is "NEVER GIVE UP"!! BE ALL THAT YOU CAN BE!!!

Now I am finally starting to put things on my blog so I can catch up.  This is a
Glass house I made at Art-Is-You with the direction of Kecia Devaney and Jane Blanco
I had so much fun making it event though it was very hard, I am going to try making
another one.  This was all glass and solder with pictures behind the glass and embellishments
added on to it.  It was my first time even soldering so I think it came out pretty decent for
a first timer.  Can't wait to start on the second one!

It has been quite some time since I have updated my blog.  Well, I finally did it.  I have learned so much since the last few posts.  Friends have taught me how to make some new things and some I did on my own.
I am so proud to have been published in the November Edition of Just Steampunk and I got two pages this time.

I have now submitted this blog to a contest for ArtsyShark.  They are looking for 48 artists of
all kinds and I went with Mixed Media.  It would be so awesome to win.

I have been in two galleries so far and I can't say how exciting that has been.  One was a showing of my art plus two others and the other gallery was a huge one with one of my huge collages in it.

I hope to continue on this path and maybe someday, who knows, get discovered?  I am going to
Art-Is-You in October in CT and will be vending on Saturday evening my jewelry and maybe some altered bottles that I love to do as well.  Anyone living within the area is welcome.
Here you have a cigar box altered into a Steampunk box with a Paris scene inside I learned this technique from the talented and wonderful Linda Cain who was published in Cloth Paper Scissors.
