I am back from The Art-Is-You Retreat in Ct. and it was wonderful. It was great seeing old friends and making new ones. The vending went well on Saturday morning. Everyone was in a frenzy to shop since they had classes to go to. My wonderful hubby helped me with the vending. I took some awesome classes, one with Kecia and Jane where I made a faux mercury glass house (I will post pictures) and a class with Andrea DeMeng where I made this awesome collage. What fun.
Now there is more exciting news! On December 16th, I will be vending at FIT in Manhattan. I now have to get back to work and make more jewelry for that show. If you are in the area, head on down, there will be some great vendors there. I am going to be with Tery Favo and Isolina Perez and Tery will be selling her gorgeous jewelry as well.
Hope to see you there!

Here we are in October already! The only problem is that today will be 84 degrees! Where is Fall? One of my favorite seasons! I have been working on my jewelry for the Art Trunk Show at Art-Is-You in CT which is only a few days away. This year I have made many different items than I usually do. I hope a lot of people show up as the artists for this show work very hard at their muse and put everything they have into it.
I am excited to say that in December, I will be vending at FIT in NYC. I have always wanted to sell in Manhattan and I finally got the chance. Here are some pics of my jewelry. These are just some samples of what I have been making. Stay tuned for more news from AIY in CT!

Trunk Show at Art-Is-You in Stamford, CT. October
I have been feverishly working on my Steampunk jewelry to sell at the Trunk Show in CT this October. I have made some very interesting items, such as necklaces that can be worn as belts, Steampunk items with a Victorian edge to them. Some Items are quite large, if you like that type of jewelry and some are regular size. I love making hearts and using Ice Resin with them. I started working with Ice Resin a while ago and I am now addicted! I will post some pictures to give you a preview shortly.

New Recipe
While I was exercising, I watched the Food Network Channel. I love to watch Giada. Today, she had an awesome recipe for dessert. She made Fried Banana Split. Here is the recipe:
makes 2 servings
1/4 cup of water
4 oz semisweet chocolate
two bananas
1 Tbls. butter
brown sugar to coat
toasted almonds
Put 1/4 cup of water in a double boiler.
Chop the chocolate into small pieces
Melt the chocolate in the water in the double boiler until it looks like satin
Cut the tops and bottoms off of the bananas and then slice the skin down the middle
peel and cut the bananas in half and then half again. You should have 8 pieces.
Melt 1 Tblsp of butter in a non-stick frying pan while you coat the bananas
To coat them, put some brown sugar into a pie dish and coat both sides of the bananas.
Cut side down, place them in the butter in the frying pan for 30 seconds.
Pour the melted chocolate over them and add some toasted almonds on top
YUMMY

Art Trunk Show in CT at Art-Is-You
I have decided to put everything on hold for now because before I know it, October will be here. I am vending at the Art Trunk Show on Saturday and need to get all my jewelry done. This year, I will have necklace stands that you can purchase as well. What better way to display a necklace on a decoupaged necklace stand?
I will have different items than I had the last time and sure hope you visit my table to check them out!

My First Journaling Page
Here is my first journaling page that I made with Dyan Reavely's stamps and her Dylusion Inks, the colors are so vibrant. I love how you use the mask to cover each dress so that they overlap, and then color them in with her inks. I then added some words that show how much I love fashion and shoes, and more shoes and more shoes!!!!

Creative Souls
I just joined a new website called Creative Souls. It is for artists that want to promote their work and possibly sell it. I uploaded three pictures of jewelry that I already made and actually sold two of the pieces. I really enjoy making Steampunk jewelry with a touch of Victoriana added to it. Stop by on Facebook and check out Creative Souls and see some fantastic artwork by some wonderful artists.

Adirondack Inks Class
I had the pleasure of taking a class at Scrapper's Playground last night and learned how to make this with Tim Holtz's Adirondack Inks. We had so much fun. We used straws, sticks, nibs, paintbrushes and even blowing on the inks gives this a dramatic look. Can't wait to do the second part in August.

Best Bloody Mary
If you ever want the BEST Bloody Mary around, you have to go to the Plaza in New York City. They make the best there is. They infuse their vodka with horseradish so it makes it extra spicy and the best part is that they put a huge shrimp on the top of the glass! Olives, celery, cucumber and lemon, it is like having a meal in a drink!!!
Blogging
It has been a little while since I blogged, things have been so busy around here! I think it is time to put a hold on the scrapbooking and start the jewelry again. I will be vending in October at Art-Is-You in Stamford, CT. and I need to start making jewelry for the trunk show. I am thinking of decorating some bottles to sell and trying some encaustics with them for a different spin on things. I will be selling the jewelry that I design, including some Steampunk pieces which is usually my specialty. I am thinking about a few more things that I may get into, for example, some mixed media that I will sell as well.
I hope if you are in the area of Stamford, Ct., you will visit the Art-Is-You trunk show at the Stamford Hotel. Now it is back to work and I will be blogging again in a few days.

Winner Of The Blog Giveaway Necklace
We have a winner!! It is Karen Howcroft! Congratulations!
Honeymoon
Hi folks, I thought I would write a little about my Honeymoon here because it is just something I want to always remember. Paris was lovely. We stayed at the same hotel that they filmed the last episode of Sex And The City, in fact, we stayed on the same floor! I took pictures of the rug where she dropped her necklace and the steps that Big ran up on. Our room had the full view of the Eiffel Tower from the balcony, it was awesome as you can see by the picture here on the blog. I will upload some pictures at a later time. We ate at the cafes and bistros where the food was excellent and took a Handsome Cab ride through the city. What fun. Then we traveled to New York City, where we stayed at the Waldorf Astoria Towers. While we were following the Concierge to our room, we saw there was a Lyndon B. Johnson Suite and thought "wow that must be something", well much to our awe and surprise, she opened that door and there we were, in his suite which was SIX rooms, every window had a different view of the city.
We ate at a fine restaurant called Daniel owned by the Chef Daniel Boulard and the food was fantastic, then we saw Phantom Of The Opera. What a great play! We had tea at the Plaza and the best bloody mary you could ever have. We went to the MOMA and we had a grand time.
I wish it didn't have to end, but alas, it did, so we decided to go back to Paris next year!!!
Hope you enjoyed reading about our little adventure and BIG Honeymoon!!
